Past secretary of United Transport Union, Local 416. Signalman with the 48th Highlanders involved in the invasion of Sicily during World War 2. Passed away peacefully at Hospice Simcoe, Barrie on Monday February 11th, 2019 in his 96th year. Beloved husband of the late Davina (nee Ramsay). Loving father of Edith Murray of Kipawa, Quebec, Catherine Van Dam and her husband John of North Dakota and the late David Lumsden and his late wife Suzanne, late Ian Spencer and his late wife Jeanette. Grandfather of Kimberley Murray (Abbas Habibi), Riley Murray, Kelly Lumsden (Greg Long), Ryan Lumsden (Leah), John Van Dam (Jennifer), David Van Dam (Kara), Neil Van Dam (Jessica) and the late Richard Murray. Great grandfather of 12 grandchildren. Predeceased by brothers George Lumsden (late Alice), Hanlan Lumsden (late Margaret and the late Thelma) and sisters Isabel French (late Ed), and Trudy Martin (late Allen).
