Catherine Jean Awrey

Awrey, Catherine “Kathy” Jean (née Harkness) - Passed away peacefully at the Royal Victoria Regional Health Center in Barrie, on Monday, May 11th, 2020 at the age of 73. Kathy is survived by her husband Orville, sons Andrew (Val), Jeffrey (Megan), Rick (Laura), Bryan (Katie), and grandchildren Katie, Tristan, Isabelle, Charlotte, Abigail, Brady, Tyler, and Jane. Their sorrow is shared with Kathy’s siblings Jack (Brenda), Bob, George (Christine), Jim, Barb (Mel), Gwen (Roger), Grant (Wendy) as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Kathy is predeceased by her parents Robert and Grace. Kathy was born on October 7th, 1946 in the Township of Carrick. Together with Orville, Kathy built her life around her children and sports. In her early years she enjoyed playing hockey and baseball. She later went on to coach many baseball teams.  She loved being at the rink or on the ball diamond. Nothing made her happier than watching her children and later grandchildren participate in sport and dance. Kathy’s love, support, and humour will be missed by many. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make a donation to the charity of your choice.
