Doris Louise (Armstrong) Green

Doris Louise Green (nee Armstong) went home to be with her Lord and Saviour on August 7th, 2022, in her 96th year. Devoted wife of the late Robert Green. Beloved Mother of Ann Knights (Jim), Deborah Adair (Graig), Jane Prosser (Donald) and Shelley Bec (Randy). Loving Grandmother of 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

Doris was the second born of 9 children to Elizabeth and Roy Armstrong, on December 22nd, 1925. She valued her time growing up on the farm in Beeton as well as opportunities to get together with her siblings. All her family loved to listen to the wonderful stories she shared about her adventures growing up.

During her lifetime she worked alongside her husband in many family-owned businesses. Mostly remembered as the Postmaster for the Huttonville General Store, smiling face of an Ice Cream shoppe in Huttonville, and Bob’s Fish and Chips in Shelburne.

Doris was a faithful servant to the needs of the church and her family. All visitors were made to feel very welcome in her home.  A favourite verse was Proverbs 31:31. “Honour her for all that her hands have done and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.”

A visitation will be held at New Life Fellowship Baptist Church in Innisfil on Sunday August 14th from 1:00pm - 2:00pm with Funeral Service at 2:00p.m.  Reception to follow. Donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Samaritan’s Purse.
