Elizabeth Anne Liggett

August 18, 1938 — February 28, 2024

Elizabeth Anne Liggett (nee Gamble) of Innisfil, known to friends and family as “Anne,” passed away peacefully in her 85th year at Royal Victoria Hospital on Wednesday, February 28, 2024.

For the past twenty years, Anne lived happily in Sandy Cove Acres. She enjoyed entertaining much-loved family and friends - including sometimes in the community pool across from her house. After many years as a full-time mother, she had a long career working in human resources.

Anne also enjoyed spending winters in Florida and in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, where she was a proud volunteer at the Freedom Readers program in order to develop literacy skills for children.

She is survived by her three sons, Russ (Christine), Phil (Norine), and John (Sarah), as well as her eleven grandchildren: Jesse (Kristina), David, Jessica, Julia, Laura (Matt), Dalton, Peyton, Ashton, Hayden, Joshua, and Aiden. Anne was also very fortunate to have been blessed with two great-grandchildren, Henry and Charlotte. Anne was one of four daughters to Charles H. Gamble & Pearl Anne Stewart, and she is predeceased by her beloved sisters Jean, Doris, and Barb.

Anne and her family extend sincere thanks to all her friends, family, Sandy Cove neighbours, and the medical team at Royal Victoria Hospital for their compassion and support throughout her last days.

In lieu of flowers, Anne would have wished for donations to be sent in her name to the Canadian Children’s Literacy Foundation: https://childrensliteracy.ca/Donate.

A public celebration of life will be held on Sunday, April 14th at 1:00pm at the Innisfil Funeral Home to commemorate Anne’s legacy, as well as the impact she had on her friends and family.
