Frank Albert Johnson

April 22, 1940 — January 18, 2024

Frank was born on April 22, 1940, in Fitch Bay, Québec, and passed away peacefully on January 18, 2024, in Barrie, Ontario at the age of 83. Predeceased by his father, George Albert, mother, Nora Thayer, and brother, William. Survived by his wife of 60 years, Marilyn (nee Beland), son Brad (Lina), grandchildren Nathaniel and Karina, sister Sandra Dezan of Ayers Cliff, QC, and brother George. Frank will be remembered by his brothers and sisters-in-law, and his nieces and nephews, in both Ontario and Québec.

After growing up in Québec, Frank served for 6 years in the Canadian Armed Forces at CFB Petawawa, before working at, and retiring from, STELCO in Hamilton, ON. Frank enjoyed spending his time at the Hammock Harbour Resort in Orillia, ON, and, after retiring, at Sandy Cove Acres, in Innisfil, ON.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff of the Cardiac and Renal Inpatient Unit at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie, ON, for the care that they provided to Frank in his final days.

To honour Frank’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. Internment will take place at White Chapel Memorial Gardens in Hamilton, ON, at a later date.
