Gwendolyn Shirley Mottershall

Gwendolyn Shirley Mottershall (Heighington), was born in Toronto on February 11th, 1942. She passed peacefully on January 12th, 2025, at Royal Victoria Hospital Barrie.

Beloved wife of Richard Mottershall for 64 years. Loving mother of Karrie (Paul) Simms and Kim (Steven) O’Rourke. Cherished grandmother of Michael (Amiee) O’Rourke, Ashley (AJ) Campbell, Jennifer (David) Young, Rebecca, and Emily. She was also a cherished great grandmother to Abbigail, William, Caleb, Owen, and Ezme. 

Gwen, a kind and gentle soul, valued her family above all else and spent her life as a source of guidance and love for all that knew her. Gwen will be missed by every life she touched. Her life spanned over eight decades, leaving cherished memories for those who knew her. May her memory bring comfort and peace to all who mourn her passing. Her family wishes her peace in her final resting place and to know that her love will live on in us every day. 

There will be a Celebration of Life on Sunday, January 19th, 2025 from 2:00p.m. until 4:00p.m. at Innisfil Funeral Home, 7910 Yonge Street, Innisfil, Ontario L9R 1L5. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Sick Kids Hospital in Gwen’s memory.

Please wear a splash of purple as this was her favourite colour.
