Passed away at home peacefully with his family on Tuesday August 10th. James is survived by his wife Candace of 12 years and his children, William and Ashley.
James’ dream was to have a family and be a great dad. He worked for Canada Post as a letter carrier, bringing smiles to people’s faces everyday and would rush home daily to spend time with Candace, William and Ashley. He loved them dearly. His family was his world.
In James’ off time he enjoyed playing sports, including dragonboating with the Mojos in Toronto, after meeting Candace on a Niagara Wine bike tour. In 2010, James had the pleasure to be part of the Alliance DragonBoat Club that went to Macau for the 7th annual Club Crew World Championships and had a great experience racing with a high calibre of teams. James also volunteered in the community collecting letters to Santa during the yearly Santa Claus parade and regularly with children’s sports – even before having his own children, he would help coach his nephews in lacrosse and then coach William and Ashley in hockey , ball hockey, and soccer.
James will be greatly missed by his parents, Terry Peters and Sharon Brennan and their respective spouses, Nancy and Dave; his siblings, Sue, Jeff and Janessa and his step-siblings, Kayla, Ryan, Candice and Remi; his nephews, Mackenzie and Connor, and all his aunts, uncles, cousins and in-laws.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Gilda’s Club of Barrie, who support our local families going through cancer treatment or the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation (thepmcf.ca), to support the Sarcoma Research Fund (select from drop-down).
