ARMSTRONG, Kenneth Wayne - (Aug. 14 1942 - July 2, 2020)
Spent his peaceful final days surrounded by family, after spending many years living with the effects of Alzheimers disease. Survived by his adoring wife Melitha, loving children Michael (predeceased), Darren (Shelley), Ronald (Colleen), Cathey Russell (Mark), Kenneth (Raija) and Kimberley (Donny), and will be missed by his eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Born in Fergus Ontario, Ken is predeceased by his brothers Robert and Alan and his parents George and Mary. Ken retired in 2003 after 37-years in policing, beginning in Metro Toronto before he moved on to Orangeville, Peel Region and finally finishing his career in Barrie. A gentleman with an incredible sense of humour, Ken approached every situation with a helpful nature and positive attitude. Ken loved nothing more than meeting new people, running into old friends and showing his grandchildren the constellations. He was an environmentalist, avid cyclist, historian and storyteller who will be missed by many. A special thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff at Royal Victoria Hospital’s specialized seniors care unit, who offered such incredible care for Ken, especially in his final months. A private cremation will take place at Innisfil Funeral Home. No funeral service is planned, in accordance with Ken’s wishes. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation in Ken’s memory to the RVH Foundation or the Special Olympics Law Enforcement Torch Run.
