Robert (Bob) Benjamin Ross

February 2, 1944 — December 5, 2021

Innisfil

It is with profound sadness that the family of Robert (Bob) Ross announce his passing at Hospice Simcoe in Barrie, Ontario in his 77th year.

Bob was born in Campbellton, New Brunswick to John and Virginia Ross (nee Kenney), youngest brother to John Ross and sister Ann Goris.  Predeceased by the love of his life Laura Ross.

Bob was beloved father to Tracy Ross (Dave), Tammy-Ann Fraser (Len), and Bobby Ross (Shelley). Stepfather to Deborah Wheeler (Scott) and Dan Macqueen (fiancée, Jane Stephens).

Bob was a delightful Grampa to 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Those that knew Bob loved him and delighted in his huge personality.  He was always full of life and brought his immense energy to each and every situation.  He would wake up every morning with the most amazing positive outlook.

Bob had many different careers over the years.  As a young man, his love of cars led him to be a mechanic. He would always say " I'm a mechanic by trade".  In his later years, he lovingly and beautifully restored antique cars with his friend Ray. Dad had many close friends due to his outgoing personality.

The vast majority of his life Bob owned and operated a mobile catering truck in Thornhill until his retirement.  Bob's outgoing personality afforded him much success in his business.  His dedication to his business and his customers is why he was so successful.  Family and friends always looked forward to the food leftover from the truck.  He always brought a box of sandwiches which, more often than not, included the ever-popular honey bun.

For a time, he owned racehorses and loved to go to the casinos with Laura.  Rarely a weekend would go by that there wasn't a card game taking place at the house, even up to the last few weeks of his life.

Bob's larger than life presence will be missed and his impact on each and every person's life will never be forgotten.

If you would like to make a donation in memory of Bob, it can be directed to Hospice Simcoe; 336 Penetanguishene Rd, Barrie ON L4M 7C2
