It is with aching hearts we announce the passing of Ronald Richard Bouman on March 14th, 2023, at the age of 67. Ron passed away peacefully at the Royal Victoria Hospital
beside his loving and devoted wife of 45 years, Eleanor Bouman.
Ron is survived by his mother, Teuntje Bouman and wife Eleanor; children Shane Bouman and Erin Kelly, with grandchildren Theo, Emily, Ally and Raven;
son-in law Caley Kelly and daughter in-law Katie Symes. Father of Ron pre-deceased, Frans Bouman.
Ron will sadly be missed by his loving siblings Frank, John and Diana Bouman; with sister in-laws Sam, Angela, Wendy; and brother in-laws, Brian and David;
nephews and nieces, Hannah, Dana, Desiree, Audrey and Clarice and Leigh.
Ron was a devoted family man, and always proud of his children's accomplishments. Always kind and gracious to strangers and friends he would meet while walking his dogs around his neighbourhood of over 35 years.
His greatest accomplishment was seeing his children grow up, and eventually, his grandchildren.
Ron took the most joy in the simple things like gardening, nature hiking, bird watching, camping, snowmobiling, RVing, boating, fishing
and playing with his grandchildren and dogs in the backyard. Ron had a true love for all things that grew- this could be seen in how he cultivated
his backyard, with lush flowers and trees. It is thought that Ron acquired this love of gardening from his Mother, Toni, and Father, Frans.
Ron also loved travelling with his wife to many places all around Ontario.
Eleanor is left with many happy memories and will continue shared traditions they both enjoyed.
Ron worked outside most of his life. He worked at TTC for 30 years, building projects and bridges and fixing streetcar tracks.
He was always a strong man, pushing himself to do the best he could for his family. His physical and mental strength helped get him through good times and bad.
Eleanor always called him her "handsome, strong man". His family would not think of him any other way.
Ron taught his children to always be kind and giving, and to go out of your way to help someone. These lessons will pass on to his grandchildren and beyond.
