In Loving Memory

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Steven H. Reynar, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, on March 21, 2024, at the age of 70, after bravely battling cancer for 16 years.

A celebration of Steve's life will be held at St. Peter’s Anglican Church, 6254 Yonge St., Innisfil (where he was a former Warden) on Saturday, April 13th at 1:30 pm. Light refreshments will be served after the service at the Church. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Southlake Regional Hospital – Cancer or Emergency Department: https://southlake.ca/foundation/about/donate/, in honor of the many healthcare team members that supported his inspirational journey. Born in Toronto on January 8, 1954, Steve was one of four cherished children of Bert and Lois Reynar (predeceased): John (predeceased), Fred, and Carol Anne. No doubt his love of fishing, boating, and cottaging was born on Little Lake in Port Severn with the family those many summers ago. Among his many joys in life, Steve found solace and happiness on the open water. He rarely felt more at peace than with a fishing rod in hand, surrounded by friends and family, with sea adventures on the horizon.

Steve was a man of many passions, but none greater than his love for his family. He was a devoted husband to his soulmate of 50 years, Joan, a pillar of strength to his children (Krista and Jason) and their partners (George and Karen, respectively), and an adored grandfather to his three young grandchildren who recently described Papa as “fun and so silly!”

Despite the significant challenges he faced, Steve’s spirit remained positive and his appetite for delicious food healthy. His courage and determination throughout his battle with cancer are a testament to his resilience and inner strength. He faced each day with grace and optimism, inspiring those around him with his unwavering resolve to live life to the fullest.

Rest in peace, dear Steve. May you sail into eternity on calm waters and stunning sunsets, surrounded by the love and light of those who will forever hold you in our hearts.
