William(Bill) Albert Henley

    William Albert Henley, known affectionately as Bill to those closest to him, passed away March 19th, 2024 in Barrie, ON after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Peterborough, ON. On December 21st, 1945 and throughout his life, Bill touched the hearts of many with his kind and generous spirit.

     Bill is survived by his loving wife Emily and his children David (Dana), Brent (Amanda), Stephen, and Kathleen (Paul). His legacy lives on through them as they fondly remember the husband, father, and grandfather who brought so much love and light into their lives.

    Bill dedicated many years of his life to his job at Scotia Bank Arena, where he found great joy and fulfillment. He was known for his hard work ethic and unwavering commitment to excellence in everything he did. Beyond his professional life, Bill will also be remembered for his passion for baking delicious desserts, apple pies and especially his famous banana bread. His sweet treats brought smiles to the faces of those around him, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the pleasure of tasting them.

    One of Bill's greatest joys in life was spoiling his beloved grandchildren. He was a proud Poppa and cherished every moment spent with Dylan, Odin, Luke, Ethan, Alyssa, Charlotte, Carson, and Brady. One of Bill's proudest accomplishments was supporting his grandsons at their hockey games, where he could always be found in the stands cheering them on with pride and enthusiasm. His love for them knew no bounds, and they will carry his memory in their hearts forever.

    In the midst of our sorrow at Bill's passing, let us also celebrate the beautiful life he lived and the profound impact he had on all who knew him. His kindness, generosity, and loving nature will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
